I have traded the S&P by evaluating retracements and advancements of
the "real" Dow quite successfully. The proviso being that the trading
relationship between the Dow and The S&P is 7 to 10 Dow points per 1
S&P point.
Since I am not home to do this all the time it is on an as desired
basis.
I have no reason to believe other relationships between trading the
Dow do not exist.

Brendan,
My broker claims he has clients who watch the 'real' Dow to daytrade
the futures, and reports that they do well. It sounds a bit risky to
me though...

Is it feasible to day trade DJI futures contracts by monitoring
price movement on the actual index with e.g. a 1-minute bar chart or
do you need to monitor price movement on the contract you are trading?
Anyone with comments or advice appreciated
