This risk can easily be avoided by using Squawk Box for $100 per month.
Many other advantages but pretty cheap insurance against a 500 point loss.

I too got burned yesterday.  I use PCquote data realtime, daytrading
SP's.  They had server problems and their data got behind by about five
minutes.  Very subtle as there was no way to know what was happening
until an online fill comes back about 5.00 points off what it should be!
No warning - nothing!
