To Thomas and other novices,

exerpt-

"The main thing that caught my attention with the "tricks of the trade"
course was that using one of the methods you buy in to a stock being
affected by earnings reports of upgrades at the open then sell it about
a half hour into the trading day, hopeing to "scalp" 1-2%...then go off
to your regular job. Is that realistic?"

Answer- yes and no
I know a couple of people who trade in the morning and go off and do
whatever. One trader I know sometimes comes in and trades for about 2
hours, 3 times a month on big news days(no-farm payroll for ex.) and
makes a good living. ****** HE IS RARE*****. In addition, he traded on
the floor of the exchange for years before he got to that point. With
adds on CNBC showing people trading from a beach in the Bahamas or
whatever, it's no surprise that you and others may ask this question.
Trading, like anyting else you intend to be proficient at will be hard
work. When you became an optometrist, how long was the process? Don't
expect SUSTAINED success in the market to be any easier to achieve but
it can be done. I'm on my 13'th year trading on an exchange floor, 6th
as a principle trader. - I still however have to work a full shift.
