We don't need to go outside US to compare futures exchange systems and
broker order systems - the US stock exchanges operate robust order routing
systems and most US stock brokers have been providing reliable order entry
systems for several years now. Further, those broker systems are able to
operate on the internet without installing proprietary software. When I
looked at my first couple of futures order entry systems they were infantile
when compared to stock order entry system.
