In the opinion of most people outside the United States,
as well as most within the country, the Republican Party's
actions are truly alarming. They are abusing a process
designed to root out real wrongdoing in order to pursue
a vendetta.
It will backfire on them in a remarkable way. The senator
who arranged the appointment of Starr broke down in tears
when he lost his seat at the mid term elections. There will be
many others following him. It has been made clear to the
majority that their inaction leads to the victory of the extremes.
That realisation brought out an unprecedented vote in the
mid terms, which will swell as the Republican party tears
itself apart, as it deserves.
