White hat worn by Borton.....Black hat by Meadors.....at least this is
the consensus opinion. Steve Shellans of MoniResearch wrote about
their connflict and the conclusion is from my e-mail group.

Borton is 66 years old.......but that probably doesn't have anything to
do with him being gruff.....I had the same problem extracting information.
What gave me more confidence is that he handles folks monies who
seem to me to be pretty savy......

Borton went through a maximum drawdown of a little over 8% by being
caught short on the recent rally. He didn't cover when he should have.....

There is too much information to relay about the man and his methods
along with the conflict that exists between Meadors and Borton. I have
a small (15K) account with him since around Nov 1. His record from
the point of maximum drawdown, in percentage terms, is as follows:

Oct 29 +2.63
Oct 30 +3.94
Nov1: +4.99
Nov3 +4.59
Nov4 +5.84
Nov5 +7.42
Nov6 +8.15
Nov9 +7.14

In other words he has made back almost all he lost prior to his historic
maximum drawdown. His system appears to be robust. At close of
market yesterday, he was 75% long.......

There is an e-mail group called 'Money Managers' where we compare
notes and experiences about money managers and it all started as a
SIG interested in Elton. My information comes from people who know
Elton and also those who have money with him......
