Wrong! Even though you may try to cancel an order, that order has to be
cancelled on the floor. What they fail to do is confirm that the order
destined for cancellation has indeed been cancelled or is still open.
Although one may think that the order is cancelled, the lack of a
confirmation either way often times leads to the trader flying blind. I bet
Robin Hall will be anxious next time she places a cancellation order, not
knowing if it has been confirmed or not!!
