Brent and all,
The test was thoroughly enjoyable. Well done. I have to play
Devil's advocate, for reasons explained later in the post.
6) How many outs are there in an inning?
Five. Anything above five is the next inning.
14) How far can a dog run into the woods?
A body length. Anything after that, he is not running INTO the woods but
THROUGH the woods. (a body length + a tail? <g>)
Yes, I got those two questions "wrong". <g>
Loved the spirit of the test. As always, the important thing is not
the answer but the process. I am reminded of the following example from
an intelligence test administered to US schoolchildren :
Question : What does a river always have?
Answers : A) water B) fish C) rocks
The Arizona kids all got it wrong. They answered C) rocks, as the
majority of Arizona rivers are dry for most of the year.
Who was truly being tested? The testers or the children? And who
was the smartest? Everything is relative, and without walking in the
other man's shoes, it is impossible to know, should you desire to. There
often is no single right answer, it is all in the perspective and the
process. And therein lies the reward. : )
Darrin
P.S. Brent, thanks for a fun and thought provoking post. Got my gears
moving.
