Re: Data Services

Stephanie,

Like several other RT members who have responded to your query, I use
Pinnacle Data and am quite satisfied with their service. Although
it's dated and a bit "clunky", the DOS software they provide is
adequate.

As you probably know, you can buy COT data from vendors like Pinnacle
Data and Genesis, but I think the best source for this data is Bullish
Review (http://www.bullishreview.com/). Steve Briese is a recognized
expert on interpreting COT data, and he provides the data (already
converted to his proprietary COT Index) in graphable form. Best of
all, its free.

Consensus, Inc. and Market Vane are sources of market sentiment data.
I don't have URLs for these vendors. Genesis is apparently supplying
sentiment data now, too. Although Larry Williams, Jake Bernstein,
Welles Wilder, etc. endorse their data, I've heard quite a few bad
comments about Genesis' data quality. I've no personal experience
with them, though. They're located at http://www.gfds.com/ .

I'd be interested in hearing about other sources of market sentiment
data. Also, is anyone incorporating market sentiment in their
analyses via indirect methods? By this I mean some sort of indicator,
etc.

Good luck,

Brad Dingee
