Gary,

     I don't have this year's edition, so these stats are from 1997. 

Hirsch's chart shows the last day of September as being just barely the 
second worst day of the month. Average September loses 0.6%. Dow up only 
6 times in last 27 years. Worst month of the year overall on both Dow 
and S&P. Only two good Septembers in last 11 post election years, 1965 
and 1973.
