One other point to consider (this is why I trade the futures).......

On Thursdays' close the S&P futures dropped over 700 points AFTER the
cash markets closed.....your oex puts gather that premium AFTER the
cash oex closed....therefore....the price on Thurs. close of your
options already reflected
the 8 point drop in the cash......

So....you really didn't lose the premium on Fri....you just received
it on the close Thurs......
