By definition every trade has to have a buyer AND seller. But if you
are trying to ascertain as to whether it was an agressive seller or
buyer, you would have to look at the tape. If the stock was trading at
56 and the trade is blocked at 54.5, it would appear to be an agressive
seller since it was trading "in the hole." By and large with the advent
of derivatives and other securities, most volume information is
relatively useless.
