Re: Backtesting Data

I subscribed to the Omega CD club for several quarters but found too many errors
in both indexes and stocks. When problems were called to Omega's attention, they
pointed fingers at Dial Data, the data supplier. While DD seemed willing to fix
problems called to their attention, I found the same bad data included in CD
after CD and became fed-up with the hassles. There have been similar problems
reported with the Omega futures CD provided by Genisis. Personally, I would
recommend dealing directly with the data vendor rather than purchasing data from
Omega. In any event, I do not recommend selecting a data vendor based on cost.

I have been using Pinnacle's futures and CC data for some time and have found
the data to be reliable and corrections are applied both quickly and
automatically. Unfortunately, Pinnacle's software is all DOS, however I've found
the quality of the data worth the hassle.
