Good Morning RealTraders:
A friend of mine just completed a 30 day experiment with TradeStation 4.0.
Here is what he did.
He purchased two identically equipped computers. They were ordered at the
same time from the same company. So when he says identical he means
identical. I won't bore anyone with the He ran a copy of TradeStation on
each computer with identical setups. The computers were ran for 30 days
without shutting down. There were 200 identical symbols being collected on
each computer. Both computers even had the same data vendor. The only
difference was one computer ran the NewsServer and the other did not.
RESULTS:
The computer which did not collect news data collected 23.8% more data
(ticks) than the computer collecting news. This percentage was calculated on
file size not the number of ticks.
POINT:
If you have the luxury of two computers and two copies of TradeStation. It
would be wise to use the NewServer on the computer you don't trade from.
Your data will be cleaner and more accurate.
