The answer is the Mean (Average). Let's say you run a moving average system
on 11 stocks and you've decided you must use a common parameter on all 11
stocks. And let's say the results you get are: 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 20,
20, 20, 20, 20..
Logically your best parameter would fall somewhere between 10 and 20. The
Mean is 14.54 but the Median is 10. The Mean would be a better choice as a
common parameter for these 11 stocks.
