That is exactly what I look for day-to-day. Trends that I think are in
transition or new trends that are already underway but where I think the
probabilities favour a continuation rather than a reversal. Its an
approach that takes patience - but if your follow enough markets you can
generally find something that fits your entry criteria. The approach
generally also requires greater intestinal fortitude.
I try to discipline myself to look only at weekly and monthly charts -
its difficult. But if I can't resist looking at dailies or intra-days
then I use them for timing purposes only. Over the long run, my
research show that there is very little edge to be gained by looking at
intra-day's or dailies when your are trading trends that you
believe/(hope?) will last for muli-bars on a weekly or monthly chart.
I'm not too sure what your question is... If your are asking if long
term postion trading works in the futures markets, then my answer is
yes. But as with all methods/approaches you must be disciplined in all
the facets that make up the process of speculation.
