I've wandered the landscape of TA beginning with indicators - as a newbie I
figured I could make a fortune if only I could find the right indicator. Over
the years I've moved from formula based trading sytems to simple pivots, trend
lines, and channels. Doesn't make one better than the other, it's what works for
me. The point I do want to make here is that the very fact that such work is so
difficult to mechanize means that such techniques are not widely used. This may
provide an edge to those who use them.
