Traders,

Below are the results of our weekly "Guess the Dow" sentiment survey. The
survey was taken from 3/2 through 3/8 on our web site.

Number of participants: 357

30 day outlook:

35% bullish, 53% last week
35% bearish, 22% last week
30% neutral, 25% last week

(percentages may not sum to 100 due to rounding)

Median guess for the DJIA closing value on Friday, 3/13: 8587 (it was
8523 last week). More complete sentiment data is available at
<http://www.lowrisk.com/sentiment.htm> .

Bullish sentiment dropped dramatically last week, from 53% to 35%. Bearish
sentiment gained most of the bulls, increasing 13% to 35%. The neutral camp
also gained, rising 5% to 30%. The DJIA squeaked out a small gain last
week, but there was some turmoil during the week. In light of the gyrations
last week, some pullback in bullish sentiment is to be expected. But a drop
of 18% in bulls is surprising and has us feeling cautiously bullish for
this week. On another note, in our limited data set (about 10 months) we
have seen that high neutral readings (30%+) tend to lead to large moves in
the next several weeks.
