         INVESTOR SENTIMENT SURVEY

                 3 / 2 / 98

------------------------------------------------

Below are the results of our weekly "Guess the Dow" sentiment survey. The
survey was taken from 2/23 through 3/1 on our web site.

Number of participants: 306

30 day outlook:

53% bullish, 40% last week
22% bearish, 28% last week
25% neutral, 33% last week

(percentages may not sum to 100 due to rounding)

Median guess for the DJIA closing value on Friday, 3/6: 8523 (it was 8385
last week). More complete sentiment data is available at
<http://www.lowrisk.com/sentiment.htm> .

Bullish sentiment rose 13% to 53%. Bearish sentiment dropped from 28% to
22%. The neutral camp dropped 8% from its high 33% reading last week. This
week isn't quite as easy a call as the last two weeks. Remember that in the
past two weeks the bullish sentiment dropped while the market hit new
highs. This had us feeling bullish, a posture that worked out pretty well.
Now the sentiment is finally turning bullish. The majority of the bulls
gains came from the neutral camp, though a big chunk came from the bears.
Still, a 53% bullish reading is not enough to worry the bulls in and of
itself. So we will call our sentiment results neutral this week...
