Well, may futures do not expire, but the contract has a SETTLEMENT DATE, after
which delivery of the underlying commodity is delivered to the holder of the
contract which is almost always a merchandiser, distributor, or some type of
manufacuter/processor of goods. Needless to say, a futures contract does have
a
life of its own and new contracts replace old ones at different prices for the
contracts and every so changing prices per pound, bushel, etc........
Maybe my choice of words was a little off center, but on target nonetheless.
