I just read this from a newspaper ads which might be related to a trader's success or not.
Why Emotional Intelligence (EQ) can be more important than IQ.
In a landmark 1960's US experiment, researchers gave 4-year old children 1 marshmallow each. But the children were also told that if they could wait while the experimenter went to "run an errand", they will get 2 marshmallow instead.
For most of the kids, the choices were easy.
Years later, the researcher tracks down the children when they were entering adolescence and later when they were about to graduate from high school. They found out that the children who did not eat their marshmallows right away were doing better in school, were more confident, popular and emotionally better-adjusted than the kids who couldn't wait.
Is this signifies that those traders would be more successful if they are willing to use stops rather than market order? Much better if they can wait for the signals to arrive and then trade than trading on guessing/instinct? etc...
