Hi RTrs,
About Option commissions how much do you guys pay - round turn/one way/fees
- also Option software and data used, brokers and level of satisfaction.
Does anybody make a living out of trading options or find buying options a
losing proposition.
Option volatility sites: I was looking for sites that shows futures/stocks
with low and high volatility. I had found one site which showed volatility
on most of the futures and ranked them but I lost the site address and
can't
find it again.
About round turn or one way commission, maybe some people are of stock
options others about options on futures. My broker First American only
trades options on futures, for options on stocks, OEX I would have to open
account with another broker - a pain.
Happy Trading,
Ashif

I have made a living from trading options.

I write them. Once in a while I buy them, but only when IV is low and I
turn it into a "free trade" ASAP.

I wrote my own software which tracks IV so that I can look at it on an
historical basis and see if the IV is at the upper of lower end of the
scale.

I trade with Refco in NY, $15/RT, very good trading desk. I am very
pleased with them.

I have also taken Caplan's course & news letter. I think both are good.
He is very educational. Also very conservative.

My words of warning. BE CONSERVATIVE. Dave goes for a 36% return (if I
recall correctly) on margin. I shoot for 100% and because of SPAN, even
higher.

Has it all been roses? NO. I took a major hit in the yen over a weekend.
I had bunches of naked options. It opened up limit, and of course IV
skyrocketed. I am still licking my wounds. I will never trade currencies
that way again. (Now I daytrade them.)

I have had very good success in US, TY, and the ag's.

Hope this helps.

Paul
