Bob (and others),

The peaks that you see in the spectrum occur at
frequencies (in this case periods) which represent
a definite cyclic phenomena in prices.

If you are using indicators which are related to
the cyclic nature of prices then if you set the
lengths of such oscillators to 1/2 the observed
period OF AN EVENT THAT HAS SUFFICIENT
AMPLITUDE to make it of interest in trading, then
if the amplitude and period continue forward in time
the oscillator will probably work better.
