Windows 98 can create one large virtual screen with many monitors. (I
believe up to 8). You can use regular video cards, with each card able to
drive 1 monitor at any resolution desired. Thus, for example, you can have
one card/monitor at 640x480 at 75hz, and one at 1280x1024 at 72 hz. These
two screens would be a virtual screen. meaning they both together would
encompass the windows desktop. Thus, you can arrange programs and windows
identical to your single screen setup, except it now encompasses two
monitors. (virtual screen). There are some other specs to this set-up
that I can't remember, but it was posted at the pcmag site/magazine. I
forgot which issue, but it was about 2 mos. ago.

dual or quad video card to use this capability, or do I use a number of
video cards(one for each monitor)?
