I may be late or repeating this information. Plse excuse
me if this is so...
You are correct to use PkZip to decrease the size of the
intended file. It may not help to save files larger than
1.44 meg.
I have found a small program written up in PC Magazine
many years ago called SLICE by Ziff. (It's been upgraded
to SLICE200.) Basically, this program will 'slice' files
unto removable media (and only removable disks). The very
first diskette has a small re-assembly program called,
(what else) SPLICE, which is file unique.
Problems I've encountered: if only -1- byte is written on
a poor surface area of one of your 25 diskettes, you may NOT
be able to reassemble the entire file! Go out and purchase
an Iomega ZIP drive!
