I purchased a book from Trader's Press titled "TRADERS TAX SURVIVAL GUIDE"
BY Ted Tesser. This book gives guidence on how to obtain Traders Status or at
least
how to try to obtain this status so that one can deduct all of the allowable
expenses incurred while trading. This even includes books, training
seminars/classes to improve skills, and has advice on how to qualify and
profit from traders status.
The book cost me $65.00 for the revised edition, but in a recent mailing the
price is $75.00. I've reviewed the book and passed it on to my C.P.A.. so
hopefully she can exploit all allowable deductions. Be advised that traders
status increases the likelyhood of an I.R.S. audit.
I tried to qualify for traders status last year, that is I tried on my own,
but I did not qualify. Hopefully my accountant can help. Perhaps some traders
who have qualified for this status can provide advice, other books available,
and what options are available. Good luck.
