Below are the results of our weekly "Guess the Dow" sentiment survey.
The survey was taken from 8/11 thru 8/17 on our web site. If you would

41% bullish, 32% last week
32% bearish, 34% last week
28% neutral, 34% last week

Average guess for the DJIA closing value on Friday, 8/22: 7827 (it
was 8091 last week). More complete sentiment data is available at

This week's numbers took a rather surprising bullish turn this week.
With the dramatic selloff last week, we would expect some more
bearishness. These sentiment numbers suggest that our Guess the Dow
participants think that this downdraft will be short lived. We find
this complacency somewhat unsettling.
