Data - new digtial satellite service from Signal?

     Hello all,
     
     Has anybody tried the new Signal /Echostar digital broadcast satellite
     service? 18" dish, also get broad spectrum of TV services, etc. 
     Supposedly the same feed as the signal cable feed -- but perhaps 
     better as fewer interruptions andmore reliable service?  Curious if 
     anyone has tried it, and if there are significant differences in cost, 
     equipment needed, reliability, speed, and so forth. 
     Interested in this because, in Chicago at any rate, the cable service 
     is crummy with frequent interruptions, and  FM feed is too slow for 
     anything except back-up.
