Here are the new FEAR!! toys.
FEAR and FEARfast will be basically unchanged.
I have written the FEAREnv to represent itself as
an envelope which responds to volatility. Now it looks
kind of like bollinger bands with an attitude :) )
Use whatever colors you like.
When you load the indicators, you will notice a new ratio
input.
Defaults for the periods and ratio should be:
FEAR = BNFF 20 Ratio 1.5
FEAREnv = BNFF 20 Ratio 1.5
FEARfast = BNFF 5 Ratio 1
Everything should be scaled to "same as price data".
You also have some new paintbars:
Settings:
Bear_Fear = RED LINE THINNEST
Bull_Fear = Yellow Line Thinnest
Now your Bars will be Yellow for bullish run
RED on a bearish run, and whatever your default
color is for Neutral or changing.
If you attempt to adjust the Ratio input, you will
probably have to adjust the BNFF(period) input as well.
The reverse is true for adjusting the BNFF input.
Adjust your BNFF first, and then adjust the Ratio by
increments of, say, .01 until you get what you want.
JUst be carefull you don't curve fit yourself! :)
Only the functions have been locked out, so you
should be able to write systems or studies, or
whatever.
I have noticed that at the default setting, the
the one FEAR indicator is a bit less sensitive on the
daily charts. I will be interested in seeing how it
fairs on intraday stuff.
If adjusting the periods and ratios doesn't make it sensitive
enough, I can figure out a way to add current volatility to
it's calculations. Although it is still doing well in
many markets, and maybe I shouldn't expect it to keep up
with Silver!
At any rate, all this stuff should give people a new toy
to fool with for a while :)
You fellows running this stuff "live" on intradays, let
me know how this pig flies!
