Re: Why?

Here's a post from TS's message board, that has (unsurprisingly) gone unanswered. I posted it. See https://www.tradestation.com/Discussions/Topic.aspx?Topic_ID=97483 - if you do not have access, the post is as follows:

eSignal is providing a "CME Data Fee Waiver". So is iqfeed. If you
are a futures trader, this is huge. Former COMEX (metals), NYMEX
(energy), CBOT (interest rates) plus good ol CME - they are ALL on
   GLOBEX.

BTW, Tradestation recently *raised* fees for all exchanges from $55
   to $61.

There are only really 2 fish left in the fish bowl: ICE provides
mini data for free (which TS passes on to us - thanks). Rest
everything is on GLOBEX. If I am to subscribe to all the exchanges
as a TS subscriber (as I would REALLY, REALLY like to), it costs $61
each for CME, CBOT, COMEX, NYMEX. That's a few dollars shy of $3000
per year I don't need to pay, it seems.

Did I understand any of this wrong? If not, is TradeStation planning
to offer this in very near future?

If TS's dream is to become a high volume broker, they are certainly not helping it.

FWIW, i don't have a monthly fee.

Do you get your real-time data for free?

Last I checked "renting" TradeStation with real-time data cost me less than I was paying for real-time data alone with TS-2000i.
Maybe that has changed.
