Alex,

I have a license of MetaServer for IB, and it does what it is supposed to. I have not used it in over a year. I got myself a TS subscription, and for the price of monthly exchange data fee, and a very reasonably priced 10 r/t a month, I have the whole thing for free. Yes, you need to keep 5-10k in TS account, but the commission can actually be cheaper than IB.

I really, really like the concept of having my own copy of data, and ts2ki. I love ts2ki! But in practice, I have found it to be much more profitable, easy, and relaxing to have on-demand data on anything I like. I still have recurring fantasy trips of going back to ts2ki + MetaServer, but I usually soon come back to my senses. Actually, for this very reason I have never paid much attention to MultiCharts, in spite of such glowing reviews from venerable list members, because then I have to manage data! Yikes!

My 2 cents. But, if you must, MetaServer works just fine - just run it in a clean machine with not much else running - specially anything that likes to open or listen to tcp-ip sockets. Also, TradeBullet seems to just do order routing to IB, but not act as a data feed from IB.

Thanks. Sorry I didn't make it clear in my post, but I need TradeStation access to Interactive Brokers for intraday data, not EOD data. For EOD, I use Pinnacle.

Years ago I used the MetaServer demo to work with intraday ES, but that was 1 computer and 3 operating systems ago. Just wondered if there was anything new besides TradeBullet (which isn't practical due to requiring a subscription). Free or one-time cost is what I'm after.

I noticed something odd. I can hook up NinjaTrader to Interactive Brokers easily, and it somehow manages to retrieve a history! I didn't even know IB maintained any history. Can MetaServer enable TradeStation to do that, these days?

I have used MetaServer RT for IB for years. It is rock solid. When I needed it, as in switching computers, support was immediate and professional.

MetaServer RT offers nothing but value IMHO.

I can't speak to the EOD thing as I trade interday.

No affiliation, blah, blah. Your milage may vary.

I mostly do work with EOD methods so I don't need to hook up TradeStation 2000i to a data feed.

However, if I need to get a feed from Interactive Brokers, what's the favored way people on this list like to use?

Metaserver RT still has a demo version that lets you work with 2 symbols.

There's also this thing called TradeBullet, but it requires a monthly subscription. Forget it. I need this capability only occasionally, so it isn't worth paying a subscription.

I thought there was another one around for free, but I can't remember the name.
