At our level there is no software I'm aware of for Linux. The big
institutions may have some but it is way to expensive for us.
XP is a simple improvement over 2000. It should be as or more stable
than 2000. But it depands on the actual computer you have. I loved
2000. Still have it in my software pile. I only moved up to XP
because it got hard to find drivers for 2000 on mew computers.
Vista is no imporvement nor will the next OS be. Rats.
If you get to a point you need more stability, less pwoer
usage and features that work Multicharts is virtually a clone of TS2ki
that actually works and is supported. Most important to you is it
will do automated trading with IB so it should work really well with
that feed and platform. There are some other softwares out there that
are good also. I just stuck with what was familure and
would actually do what TS2ki promissed. I see one buddy that is a
hard core trader of many years using Ninja trader. We have IB traders
on the list so maybe one of them will pipe up.

Good morning all, Wondering if there is any information on-line
regarding using Linux o/s as a trading platform. There are so many
different types of Linux and am not sure where to start. Presently using
W2k which over the years found more stable than XP using IB and TS2ki
with Dynastore LE for IB. Not having any real issues except for cpu very
busy, Task Manager shows the system idle process way up there. I would
like to set up my second Dell tower with Linux and would like to know if
there is anyone here using or could recommend it that I could ask few
questions. Many thanks, Dave...
