Re: Combatting the "trader tummy"

It seems to be a trend. No matter how you start off with your New
Years resolution you wind up over trading. Toooooo Short Term.
Trade longer term. Delete short term charts. Go to the Gym before
or after trading hours. Use stops and eat a sit down lunch.

Have you ever use a container at your trading machine for personal
waste? If so change your trading style right now. I knew a guy that
had water and a empty at hand at all times. He went to the padded
room.

Like a number of people in the past few days, I am on this list mostly
for trader talk, it doesn't specifically have to be about Tradestation.

Could I pose a question to the list if it's of interest ... How do
others deal with the trader tummy? That being trading isn't exactly
the most
energetic of activities, combined with moderate bursts of stress &
frequent long hours, I often find myself grabbing a hand full of
biscuits / chips / nuts etc
and heading back to the screen, especially if it's late at night and
the noise of making a proper meal would be inappropriate.

I was fortunate enough to spend a short stint with Prudential-Bache
Securities many years back and I have vivid memories of their dealers
running
from the desk, grabbing literally handfuls of biscuits (quality ones,
the firm was doing well) and running back to their desk... and these
were _BIG_ guys,
so it doesn't seem a unique small office, home office issue.

I realize there are probably a plethora of fitness groups that would
be better suited to specifics of calories and the like, but I'm more
interested in how
other traders are dealing with our rather unique working environment.

I've recently started drinking a lot of water, I have a 1.5L bottle
and am aiming for 1 - 2 re-fills per day (I re-fill from a filtered
water tap), I find it significantly
reduces the desire for snacking & assists with overall health.
