I'm not a wizz bang OS guy but I spend a good deal of time fixing my
friends, children's and grandchildren's computers.  I do hardware,
OS and software repair.  NOW it's Vista.  I don't even own Vista.  I
don't see anything wrong with it and new drivers are always easier but
I'm sticking with XP.  Vista simply has too many safety features.
What do you expect when the U.S. Government jumps on Microsoft to fix
the security leaks.  So when and if I get Vista I will post all the
ways to stop the junk that slows you down.

Basically with XP and current drivers for your hardware if you get new
hardware you have a great OS.  Don't make life hard for yourself.
