I don't imagine the Joel's translator will continue to be free once
it's running perfectly. But I surely, and perhaps many others, would
like to have all my legacy EL code in C# so that I could continue to
develop in a mature language like MS C# and a platform of my choice,
although probably not NinjaTrader, and I think Joel's translator is a
good step in that direction. It would only remain to develop the
hooks into whatever platform I choose. And I have a lot of code in
C# that I can't run in TradeStation, and perhaps someone -- perhaps
even TradeStation -- will develop hooks for C# to TS Charting.
I like TS Charting, but have some problems with the rest, and this
may lead to a solution to that.
To each his own Chris. Joel has gone out of his way to provide the
translator for free. Why? Who cares...he has and so be it. You
obviously don't use ninja but others may. Why? Again, who cares,
some people just do.

I'm not sure I understand the question :-). Yes, I can translate into
VB, Java, Python, C++ or whatever else but you still need the
infrastructure to execute trades, manage market data, report on the
performance of your trades, chart prices, etc. etc.
Are you looking to build that?

P.S. I'm looking for ideas on what to translate into EL and what to
translate EL into. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
