The odds of the Global Server disconnecting and then reconnecting are very slim. Now I say this about the final version GS. I beta tested it and it works. Allowing your symbols show to be connected you simply watch the Performance tab. Top left it shows DBC Online if you are using Esignal and perhaps other data feeds. Connection status will sow Not Connected if you are not then Quotes received and processed show what is coming in and is then being processed to save in the files. Queue Performance will show a build up in one if those fields. I forget which as I'm not getting data. This is when your GS is not keeping up with the data coming in.
Next in the link is your computers connection to the data feed. Internet connections are pretty simple. If it is a dial up or Lan you open the network connections and double click on the connection to see packets coming in and out. If you use dial up then you will have delays from time to time. DSL or cable should not see delays. DTN satellite I will skip as most probably don't use it anymore and those that do know what to check. If you use Esignal it has a data manager and you can pop it up and see if you are connected or not. So figure out which in the chain is not working then get help to fix it. There is always a reason you disconnect. I haven't had problems with it for years but when I did it was always the data supplier's server or the ISP. Part of that might be I had other connections to the internet on the trading computer so if they didn't work I knew I needed to look at ISP and TCP/IP areas. I almost always had two feeds from the internet. Such as Cable and Dial up. Wireless and ISDN. That way I could switch over quickly. Used to be the DSL guys would renew your IP address. That was a sure disconnect. I don't see that anymore here.
Most importantly using SP5 TS2ki I NEVER HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE GLOBAL SERVER DISCONNECTING. Not on any ISP or Data feed service I used.
