Slow loading charts are a problem with hard drives and the memory
available to actually deal with all that data running around from disk
to memory. If you add the workspace in non market hours it should
load much faster. Gaps in the data? Such as older days missing.
First check the symbol in the GS to be sure the data for that symbol
exists. Do a CTRL F3 to refresh individual charts. Format the symbol
in one chart and change the number of days to load by one day one
direction or the other. Try to always load workspaces or additional
workspaces during non market hours or the slow hours after the regular
close. I've run a lot more than what you are running on a lot less
computer so it is very doable. Not to say a new video card isn't fun.

I normally have two workspaces open with a total of twenty charts,
with five minute bars and three indicators on each chart. I've never
had a problem with my ATI Radeon 9200 card running two monitors, an
LCD at 1280 x 1024 and an older CRT at 1024 x768. I have 1 GB system
memory and an Athlon XP 3500+ processor.

Recently I've tried adding another workspace with twenty more charts,
similarly configured. The charts load slowly on all the workspaces,
and sometimes there are big gaps in the chart data.

Might I be better off with a more powerful card, such as a Matrox
P160? I never though the demands of 2-D were that great. I tried
adding an older Radeon 7500 card for the second monitor, didn't help.

Thanks for any ideas.
