Re: Fractal Market Analysis

PureBytes Links

Trading Reference Links

What an excellent puzzle. Someone in the trading arena who avoids publicity!

The only thing google showed up was this:

http://www.fractalfinance.com/

which probably isn't Marc's site as it made no reference to him. Interesting links page though.

No. He explained to me that he would prefer not to. He'll send you some,
actually quite a lot, of info if you ask him directly.

I've been out for a few days. Did Marc post the site address?

Hi Marc

I don't think it would stretch the non-commercial rules of the Omega list
too far if you were to post your web address here. Sounds like the sort of
stuff that would interest at least some of us.

Any body uses this sort of stuff?

Yes, I use this sort of stuff.
If you are interested in this subject, please contact me
directly, and I will forward you more information regarding
the application of this methodology. I maintain a site that
is devoted solely to it.

Has anyone read ?Fractal Market Analysis? by Edgar E Peters ?

Not me, but I read his earlier "Chaos and Order in Capital Markets."

Is it worth reading , looks pretty heavy going when i was flicking
through it.

Chaos, of which fractals are a part, is a large field of study
that's full of abstract mathematics. If you have a layman's
understanding of Chaos theory, the best you can hope for is to get
a laymans understanding of Chaos and fractal behavior in markets,
but you'll gain no real knowledge of how to develop and use your own
tools.

That was my impression of Peters' earlier book. A lot of information to
give you an appreciation of the subject, but very little in the way of
nuts & bolts that you can use to develop a trading methodology.

(My undergraduate specialization was theoretical physics and chaos
theory, so I know how hard this stuff can be to understand; even I
don't know much anymore.)

Any body uses this sort of stuff?

I know one who does, and has a consulting service based around it.
His web site www.keithfitz-gerald.com doesn't have any information
on it, however. He's a good guy, you can write to him and ask for
info if you want.ohn Pretorius <johnpretorius@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>
