Similar to Gerald's thoughts, I have always wondered why some ES 1 minute charts (a liquid market) can look like he describes, but a less liquid emini Dow chart looks much more fluid. Any comments?

Sometimes I use a 5- or 8-tick SP chart with a 1 min. ES chart to trade the
ES. The best of both worlds - accurate entries, exists and trends with
"instantaneous" fills.
Even on a 1-minutes ES chart, there are many "flat' spots - 3, 4 or more
equal highs or lows. Normally, I consider "3 of anything" as a red flag for
Resistance or Support.
Anyone know why so many "flat" spots with the ES market?
