Nonsense. Mutual fund prices are routinely adjusted for distributions and this is no different. Unadjusted prices are almost useless.
The attached picture shows both the adjusted and unadjusted values from the historical data available at Yahoo.
The Omega Downloader allows either when downloading data from Dial Data.
Since the company has $5 per share less in assets, it is worth $5 per share less.
And if the company sold all of it's assets for cash, paid off all liabilities, and distributed the remaining cash to shareholders, the resulting company would be worth zero and stock price would be zero.
