Take Bob Scott's word for it, hyper-threading or dual-CPUs are the only two
ways to go!

He's a world-class expert in these matters and it took him months to
convince me --

TS4 was a slug before I switched to an HT PC -- The difference was like
comparing a Moped to a Lear-Jet --

Definitely go with a tweaked XP PC -- Unless it's changed recently, I
think a 2.8GHz is the minimum speed available for a Hyper-Threaded Intel CPU --

Would a 2.4 gig Celery P4 run slower than a 1 gig P3? Some people have

celery...just wondering. Usually when you lose ticks the bottleneck is a
slow hard drive. Once I upgraded from a .933 gig P3 to a 2.66 gig P4
(non-hyper threaded), a gig of memory, and a SATA hard drive, the tick
loss disappeared, especially during high volume AM openings and news
events. Also, a non-tweaked XP system can slow things down considerably too...

If by chance your 2.4GHz P4 has hyper thread capability then TS4 will run
much better in that configuration.
