With Win 2K upgrade version you can do a clean install. During one point in
the install it will ask you to put in the Win 98 full version CD that you
upgraded from to verify, but you do not have to install Win 98 again.

What's the main difference between Windows 2000 Upgrade and Windows 2000 Pro

(full version)?

I'm planning to replace my Windows 98 OS with either Windows 2000 Upgrade
version or Windows 2000 Pro (full version). This old Pantium II machine will

be used only for TS4 and some other minor application programs. I don't want

to upgade the Windows98 with Windows 2000. Instead, I'd like to have a clean

installation. Can Windows 2000 Upgrade version be used to install the OS in
a new/clean hard disk? In other word, in order to have a clean installation,

do I have to buy the Windows 2000 Pro (full version)?
