Dial Data has a good solution.
They distribute the split information as part of the daily record on days when a split is effective. The data is in raw (unsplit) price form with the split info.
Then the Omega Downloader/TradeStation 2000i combination has the option of processing the splits as it loads the data. This puts the processing at the local computer.
You could supply a downloader-like application that would receive the data and optionally convert it as it was being downloaded. This method also has the advantage of never requiring the old data to be revised.
