Which port are you connecting the extra monitor to?
Is your laptop video card made to work with a 2nd monitor?
Some of the newer laptops (2001 or newer) can use a 2nd monitor since the
video card is designed that way.
I have 2 Compaqs from 2000 and had to get a "Margi" card adapter for the 2nd
monitor.
This built-in capability would be an important feature for someone looking
to buy a new laptop.
I think it really depends on the built-in video card capabilities.
Also, on laptops, most of the video is *very* hard to upgrade as it's too
integrated to the rest of the system.
Hope this is helpful.
