As I understand, TS 7.2 does not have separate data fee. For $100 you get
the platform + data. However, unless you pay the exchange fees, the data
would be delayed. So in my present scenario, I pay $100 + whatever TS asks
me to fork over for cme, cbot & nyse/nasdaq etc. fees per month.
Now, if I want the outside data and do not want data from TS servers, I do
not see why can't I stop paying the exchange fees to TS.
For my purposes, I am quite happy with the TS feed lately. Also have IB as
my backup broker and use SierraChart ($6/month) that runs off the IB feed.
So I am covered if I am in a trade & TS goes belly up.
But this indeed is a very interesting product for getting all sorts of
outside data into TS for backtesting. For exmple, european markets! No
native feed from TS for any markets outside US.
Thanks
