Hello Feisal,
I just heard recently that all Dell, and many other big name laptops
are made in China (3 cents an hr) now, most by a company called something like
Gigantz, so the chances are no matter what brand you buy it will be
from the same factory, to know where the machine is made look on the
serial tag. My Toshiba was made in the Philippines (15 cents an hr)
best regards

FS> hey folks,
FS> asking a favor a bit off topic, although i'm sure some will find some
FS> benefit here..
FS> i need a laptop as a backup for my desktop system. it's been 5 years since
FS> i bought my last laptop and every month it seems the technology, price, and
FS> features are changing remarkably. obviously i don't expect to replace all
FS> the features of my desktop multi-monitor workstation, but i was wondering if
FS> anyone has had any positive or negative experiences with a particular brand
FS> or brands.
FS> i've searched through all the obvious reviews and readers choice sites and
FS> magazines, but i figured tradestation users could make a more meaningful
FS> suggestion. most reviews describe laptops as ideal for gaming and so forth,
FS> but i'm not sure if that kind of power is necessary to run simultaneously
FS> 1. tradestation 7.2
FS> 2. IE Browser
FS> 3. Traders Workstation java applet order entry software
FS> i'll be traveling a bit as well, so a wi-fi connection is a must. i've been
FS> using windows 2000pro on my desktop and love it. is xp pro just as good or
FS> a resource hog? i've read that 15" monitors are more than enough but others
FS> claim the 17" monitors are a must for traders. HELP.
FS> i have the bad habit of paying for more than i need, but i also don't want
FS> to short-change myself since i won't have the upgrade convenience of a
FS> desktop.
FS> any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
FS> sincerely,
