I assume the wiring in the chart is in a simplified/schematic form.
You may *never* put 2 batteries in parallel without a diode between them.
The reason is simple every batterie has a (minimal) diffrent voltage.
If you em up in parralel the there there will be a flow of electicity.
The higher voltage battery will charge the lower voltage one,
But because of the power flow the lower one will develop heat and looses a little voltage.
Hard to explain with my limited English but in the end all batteries will be empty.
Those that have a boat/yacht will probebly understand what I mean.....

Finally I wanna add that converting DC-->AC-->DC is a great waste of energy....
30-50% extra time out of a battery set is not impossible.
