I bought a refurbished Samsung 760v(17 inch) about 6 months ago and it's working
perfectly. I went to Compusa a number of times and compared LCD screens(they have a
large display) for image and text quality and the Samsungs along with the Sonys stood
out, especially when comparing text and brightness. I used text quality as my main
guideline, and set them at 1028x768, the resolution I was going to use. You need to
compare them side by side to see the obvious differences. Individually they all seem
to look good. I looked at Viewsonic, NEC, Sony, Samsung, and some others(HP, Compac,
Princeton?). I bought the Samsung 760v at a computer swap meet for about $350 and the
only catch was the warranty...(one year).
