This doesn't quite answer your question but here's a nice easy way to
transfer data quickly between two computers, if you're using Windows 2000 or
NT.  Buy two Ethernet 10/100 cards($10.00 each) and a RJ45 cable to  connect
the cards(another $3-10), install a card in each computer, plug in the
cable, spend a little time figuring out how to get your new network  to
share files, and then copy the data file from one computer to the other.
The file will transfer very quickly... and once you do it a few times you'll
be able to start the transfer in about 15 seconds.
