Both are free, they can pick up different things so optimal to use both
They will eradicate adware and the associated registry entries and tracking
cookies.
Spyware Blaster is a free utility which will prevent most of the adware crap
being installed in the first place

They should give you a good start. Its amazing what they find the first time
they are run
